Big Block Blast is a block puzzle game for those who like a little relaxing gameplay and strategic planning. You are given a compact board, where a series of shapes of squares and triangles appear. It can seem easy to find the right place for each piece, but space goes fast if you make the wrong choices.

How to Play The Big Block Blast

At the start of each turn, there are three random shapes. Simply pick up each piece from the holding area and drop it on the board. It is important how you place it the first time, you can not rotate or change the shapes.

The main goal is to combine pieces into 2x2 "Big Blocks". Besides just filling blocks, matching colors can score you additional rewards. Smartly laid out board spaces make it easier to string combos together, while haphazard placement can easily leave the board gridlocked after just a few turns.

What makes special blocks interesting?

For all pieces Big Block Blast functions in a different way. As you play, you may come across blocks with special abilities that will help you out of tricky situations.

Some blocks will destroy tiles around themselves, and some are more flexible to position. They are especially useful when the board is almost full and there is not much space for big shapes.

But it is not always best to use them as soon as they show up. Keep the special blocks for when they are really needed. A well-timed move can save the whole game.

Combination of color matching

Colors aren’t just for making Big Block Blast pretty. When matching pieces fill an entire Big Block, you get rewards and chain reactions.

These combos will often open precious board space. This moment is the time to change the direction after several block placements in a row. Before you start dragging the 3 blocks you have available on the board, look for colors to find better strategic options.

• Release: Place the block onto the game board.

Tips for Good Big Block Blast Playing

• Before your first move, look at all three blocks: Don’tjust rush to put down the first piece without thinking about where the rest of the shapes might go.
• Prioritise creating 2x2 Big Blocks: This is a key objective for scoring points and keeping the game going.
• Don’t fill the centre too early: The open space in the middle for later appearing blocks is often useful.
• Big things need room: Some shapes are harder to place than others based on their size or layout. Make sure there are enough big open spaces on the board.
• Combine like-coloured pieces whenever possible: You can trigger bonuses and combos with a clever setup.
• Save the special blocks for when the board gets really difficult to control: don't waste them.
• Watch corners and edges: These can be easily overlooked but become traps if blocks are not placed intelligently.
